Spoilers for The Traitors: New Blood episode 8, “A Bad Apple Spoils the Whole Bunch,” released Thursday, October 29 on Peacock.

The short version: Shane won the Power of the Pardon and spared Victor, who had the most votes at the last round table. The Traitors then murdered Abby L., and at a surprise round table the players banished Tomica, the first Traitor out this season (DK Network; TODAY).

The cliffhanger, resolved

Episode 7 ended with Victor Vollbrechthausen getting the most votes after his clash with Tomica Adams. Before he could leave, host Alan Cumming announced that one player from that day’s mission held the Power of the Pardon and would decide whether the banishment went ahead (see our Power of the Pardon explainer).

That player was Shane Beatty, who had collected the most gold in the mission, according to Gold Derby. Shane had voted to banish Victor. Victor didn’t beg. He told Shane he was a Faithful, and if banishing him was the only way to prove it, “so be it.”

Shane changed his mind and pardoned him. He later told Joe and Jay that a Traitor would have been foolish to go around talking about a murder committed in plain sight, as Victor had. Joe and Jay weren’t so sure. Victor’s reaction, per TODAY: “Tomorrow a Traitor will fall.”

Trouble in the turret

The Traitors were rattled. Tomica, who had the second-most votes, was worried because fellow Traitor Katie Fites had voted for her, and the two had it out in the turret (Vulture). Victor’s “fruitgate” theory also still tied Joe Vanella to Tomica.

The murder

The Traitors narrowed the shortlist to Victor, Abby L. and Clyde, and chose Abby L. In the turret, Joe said she had caused “the most dissent” with her theory that Wyatt was a Traitor, and Katie noted she didn’t suspect any of them. Abby L. stuck to her read in her farewell: “I knew it. It’s Wyatt. If I were Wyatt, I would’ve killed me too, so I get it” (TODAY). At breakfast, most players decided Wyatt was being framed.

A surprise round table

Instead of a mission, Alan told the players to head straight to the round table. Victor kept after Tomica all day and pressed Joe hard at the table. Joe and Katie both voted with the Faithful against Tomica. Vulture’s tally has Tomica with 10 votes and Victor with 2 (from Jay and Tomica). Tomica was banished and revealed she was a Traitor, the first one caught this season.

What’s next

That leaves Joe and Katie as the Traitors we know about, with Victor more powerful than ever. DK Network expects the pressure to fall on Joe next week. Keep track of every exit in our New Blood murdered and banished tracker, and find more on the Traitors hub.
